Dick Ward Dr/Fitzer Dr Refuge Island
For the Dick Ward Drive/Fitzer Drive Refuge Island project, Territory Surveys was tasked with establishing permanent survey control marks (SCMs) to support the reconstruction of the refuge island, median, and splitter. Our team conducted a detailed survey of the entire area, capturing both natural and artificial features within the project scope and incorporating them into a comprehensive 3D AutoCAD model.
Key tasks included the annotation of road names, control marks, stormwater pipe and pit details (size, diameter, invert level), adjacent property boundaries, and other relevant features such as fences, signage, and overhead/underground services. The survey also included Quality Level B underground service identification, as per DIPL’s standard specifications for engineering surveys.
We ensured the data was provided in MGA (Zone 52) for horizontal measurements and AHD for vertical data, all while adhering to the project’s stringent technical requirements and the City of Darwin’s specifications. Our team also coordinated traffic management to minimize disruption during the survey process, ensuring smooth project progression.

Site Access off Barkly Highway
Territory Surveys was engaged to provide a detailed engineering survey for the design of a formalized site access off the Barkly Highway, in line with the DIPL Standard Specification for Engineering Survey. Given the remote nature of the location, our team’s extensive experience in handling projects in such challenging environments was crucial to the success of this project. The survey captured key features such as traffic control devices, vehicle crossing locations, drainage structures, overhead service locations, and other relevant infrastructure. The data collected supported Arccos Consulting’s design process, ensuring all features were accurately represented and aligned with the project’s specifications.
